The tour begins with a visit to Cabo Girão, the highest cliff in Europe, standing at 570 meters. This viewpoint offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, Câmara de Lobos and Funchal city, as well as towering cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and terraced agricultural fields that descend to the base of the cliff. The famous glass platform provides an unforgettable visual experience, a great way to start the day before heading to the vineyard property.
At the property, the owner, a person of humble origins with a deep knowledge of wines, guides visitors for about an hour and a half, presenting the vineyards where various grape varieties are grown, such as Aragonês, Syrah, Merlot, and Verdelho. The property's landscape is unique, with its terraces and sloping terrain, requiring visitors to go up and down a few steps, adding a special charm to the experience.
Throughout the visit, it is possible to observe animals like sheep, rabbits, and chickens, which play a vital role in sustainable farming practices, free from pesticides. The tour also provides the opportunity to discover exotic fruit trees such as avocados, surinam cherry, loquats, and custard apples, as well as banana plants, passion fruit vines, and aromatic herbs, further enriching the natural surroundings.
At the end of the visit, participants can relax and taste four wines, one white, two reds, and one rosé, accompanied by Portuguese cheeses and hams. This experience offers an immersion in the authentic flavors of Madeira, reflecting the strong connection between the producer, the land, and the wine.
